Workplace assessment can address anything that is affecting the culture and the overall climate of the work environment along with the people who work inside it. A proper examination of a workplace environment leads to the discovery of strengths, weaknesses, needs, opportunities or threats that concern or are qualities of individual employees. Assessment can bring a sense of control and order that ensures well-being for the overall organization.

• Consider the prevailing attitudes

One of the first things most employers notice about their employees is their attitude—how they respond to a certain person or a situation. Such observations include whether an employee comes late or whether he or she is willing to go an extra mile to get a project done. Do they follow the usual workplace dress code or deviate from it? Attitude is important because it determines the way people behave.
